Forton Boat Fittters is a small family run business specialising in all areas of work from new builds to refits.  We strive to achieve excellence in bespoke design and the fitting of quality narrow boats and wide beams.  We offer a wide range of fit outs, enough to suit every budget.

From person to person, the design of each boat varies greatly but we are able to undertake any design and build that is requested. A choice needs to be made between a narrow boat - that is a boat with a maximum beam of 6'10 and a wide beam which is best suited for the wider waterways and / or live aboards.

All of our boats are built in accordance with the BMF contract for your peace if mind and meet all the standards of the EU's Recreational Craft Directive (RCD).  All crafts have a plate fitted known as a 'CE Mark' and you will receive a Declaration of Conformity (DoC) along with an Owner's Manual.  The DoC id important document as many navigation authorities accept it as an indicator that the craft applies with their safety and environmental requirements.

The DoC is accepted for the first 4 years after which you will need to obtain a Boat Safety Certificate (((BBS).

All visitors are welcome to come and view the boats we are currently working on.  We offer friendly advise and are happy to take the time to discuss all construction details in line with your requirements.
